I was in the Seattle area when Joanne passed.  She was in a horrible car accident with her mother in the passenger seat exiting off of I-5 in Seattle.  Apparently she was fatally killed at the scene.  Her mother suffered many fractures and was hospitalized for months recovering from her surgeries and injuries.  I visited Joanne's mother while in the hospital.  I also attended Joanne's funeral.  She was not married and had no children as far as I know.  Joanne was a good classmate.  She was very smart and one was one of our top students in our class of 66.  She was an RN and at the time was working at Harborview Medical center.  Lastly Joanne hosted one our senior parties at her parents home.  I'll never forget that since it was Joyce Presley who called me out to wrestle me in the front yard.  I believe Joyce had been celebrating by drinking substances that make you lose your sense of balance and making good choices.  She tackled me and tried to remove my jeans from my body.  When she pulled my zipper down, I realized Joyce meant business!  I pinned her and then got up and ran for the hills.  She attempted to chase me down but I was too fast.  Poor Joanne--she watched helplessly as her party was deteriorating as the night passed on.  I survived and jumped into the nearest car that was departing for the lake.  Gerry Kuwada
